How have you been?
Today we are going to talk about how to fix a lunge whip that the woven part is damaged. If the white part is broken there is not solution. But the exterior is totally fixable, costs very little and you don’t have to buy a new one. This method also can be used with new items and regular whips.
What are we going to need?
Materials:
- Lunge whips to fix
- Electric tape of the color of the whip
Tools:
- Scissors
THE PROCESS:
1. Cover the broken edges with the tape. Be careful not to have any folds and only cover only the edges to make everything smother when we cover everything.
2. Wrap the tape a few times on the base of the whip to make it secure.
3. Continue to wrap the whip. I did it by placing the new turn of the tape just at the edge of the old one -as you can see on the image-, and the parts that are being repaired I did it with less space between the turns to avoid folds.
4. Once we reach the end wrap it a couple of times on the spot to secure our work.
and Voilá!
We can see here the before and after…… it is not perfect but from a distance looks the same and we stretch the life of our lunge whip. As I mentioned earlier this technique also applies to new lunge whips and whips.
When the tape stars to break its time to redo the process.
