Hello hello … How have you been? This week I have a game changing tip that I just learned and can’t wait to share with you.
Those times when you had to ask a friend to jump in font of your horse or waiting ages for him/her to put their ears forward are over!
I was helping out to shoot some pictures of youngsters for sale and the photographer gave me his phone and asked me to play sounds on an app, at first I thought it was peculiar, but immediately saw the result. All I had to do is stand where the photographer wanted the horse to look, play the horse sound and voilà! An attentive horse with it’s ears forward. What could have taken at least 15 min only took like 2.
The app that we used is called Horse Sounds and it’s available for Android and IOS. It has a couple of different very realistic sounds that you can alternate so you don’t loose the horse attention.
Another tip that I learned is to place the phone depending on how high or low the horse’s head you want it to be. For example you want a super high and arched neck? put the phone at your head level.
Hope this tip is helpful and please share other good ones with the rest of us!

What a fabulous trick! I’m the official photographer at a horse show next week and this will come in handy. Brilliant! If i post about the show and use the app, which I likely will, I’ll refer to this post.

Neat trick! Don’t know why more of us haven’t thought of it. Lol. It makes so much sense though.

Yes, yes, yes! I always do this when photographing horses, especially for portraits. I used it last night actually, to get Baldur’s attention. It works wonders!
